Diving Cozumel From Playa del Carmen

Group of Scuba Divers in Cozumel

Coming from the Mainland

This guide will provide you the directions how to reach us when staying in Playa del Carmen, Cancun, Tulum or any location on the mainland. Coming to Cozumel from the mainland is quite easy and can be a fun part of the adventure. First you will need to get to the ferry terminal in Playa del Carmen and your hotel should be able to arrange a taxi for you. It is always best to confirm the taxi price with the driver before accepting the ride and we suggest to pay in pesos.

The ferries run every hour starting at 8am. If you booked our morning 2-tank trip you will need to be on the 8am ferry, if you are diving on our afternoon trip you will need to be on the 12pm ferry or earlier. We suggest purchasing the ferry tickets directly at the terminal to make sure you book the time you need and booking 1 way tickets. The 2 companies are Ultramar and Winjet, they alternate sailings every hour with schedules updated on their website. The ferry crossing is approximately 45 minutes.

Once in Cozumel you will need to take a taxi to Cozumel Marina Fonatur where you will meet our dive guide and board our boat. The taxi ride will be approximately 15 minutes, please let us know if there are any delays. When you exit the ferry terminal in Cozumel the taxi line is to the left on the main road called Melgar Ave. The taxi will drop you off at a roundabout in the marina and you will just need to walk towards the buildings on the left side. Our guide will meet you at the waiting area next to the marina Drug Store.
